Nick Linsel, B.A.

Nick Linsel has been a student research assistant at the Chair Sociology/ Transnationalisation, Migration and Work since 2022. His activities are in the area of literature research and preparation as well as support in the preparation of project proposals.
He is studying in the Master's program "Methods of Social Research" in Social Science. His main areas of study include migration, flight, violence and biographical research as well as the sociology of work. Prior to his current position, he worked at the former chair of Ludger Pries and in the DFG project "ForMOVe" from 2019 to 2022. He is currently also involved in the DFG project "Stay, return, or move on: Comparing the life strategies of forced migrants in the transit countries of Colombia, Jordan, Mexico, and Turkey".

Katharina Mach, B.A.

Since February 2023, Katharina Mach has been working as a student research assistant at the Chair Sociology/ Transnationalization, Migration and Work. She supports in the DFG research project on "Urban Border Spaces".

Katharina completed her Bachelor's degree in Culture, Individual & Society and Educational Sciences. Currently, she is studying in the Master's program Management and Regulation of Work, Economy and Organization. She is particularly interested in topics related to migration and the sociology of work.
 


Şenay Heupel

Şenay Heupel started her work as a student assistant at the Chair Sociology/ Transnationalisation, Migration and Work in spring 2023. There she supports the team in teaching. She takes on various tasks in preparation for the seminars.
Şenay is studying Social Science in the 1-subject Bachelor's programme. Her main areas of study and interest are in the field of critical migration and cultural change research.


Leif M. Tietz, B.A.

Leif Tietz has been working as a student research assistant at the Chair Sociology/ Transnationalization, Migration and Work since 2022. He is responsible for the online presence and supports the chair team with their publication projects. 
As part of his Master's degree in the programme "Methods of Social Research", Leif is mainly interested in EU and migration research. He also works as a student assistant in the research project "Immigration from South East Europe. Facilitating participation and cohesion at municipal level" of  Senior Prof. Ludger Pries.
