Together with an interdisciplinary group of colleagues and the RUB Research School we are part of the SYLFF-Mikrokolleg on "Forced Migration".

Our current cohort (2024-2026) of PhD researchers includes Abdirahman Mahamud (Sociology), Selin Altay (Law and Sociology) and Jack Proven (Law) and several associated PhD and Post-doc researchers from different disciplines working at RUB. 

The Sylff-Mikrokolleg is a key element of the IFHV Research Cluster II “Violent Disruptions and Forced Migration” where Prof. Dr. Margit Fauser is also a member of the Board of Directors.

Events

On October 16-17 2024, members of the SYLFF-Mikrokolleg gathered for their annual retreat, engaging in meaningful discussions and exchanges about their research in the field of Forced Migration.

On 3 and 4 November 2025, the SYLFF-Mikrokolleg hosted a conference on ‘Forced Migration: Digital Frontiers: Forced Migration in a Changing Technological Landscape’. More information can be found here.
