General Information

We offer between 8 (summer semester) and 16 (winter semester) tutorials each semester. We are solely responsible for the implementation of these tutorials. The contents of the tutorials are developed jointly by the student tutors. We are supported by the tutorial representative of the faculty.

Information on the Tutoring Program of the Faculty of Social Science

Along with their work as tutors in the semester-accompanying courses, they also try to make it as easy as possible for new students to get started in their studies. Therefore, in addition to leading the semester-accompanying tutorials, the tasks include:

  • The counseling during the enrollment
  • The organization of the orientation days
  • The study-accompanying consultation for questions concerning the timetable
  • The offer of consultation hours, in which long-term study planning and help with study organizational problems are offered
  • The issuance of brochures and information materials on the methods of academic work

In the individual tutorials, the tutors fulfill a multifaceted function: they help with orientation at the university, support the social integration of the first-year students and also accompany them academically.

The tutorial, along with the introductory lecture, is a compulsory part of the introductory module for all Social Science B.A. programs.
