Working conditions in hospitals and inpatient care for the elderly are increasingly characterized by work intensification and high physical and psychological demands. There are many reasons for the high workload and work intensification in the nursing sector. These include inefficient communication channels and increasing documentation requirements. Innovative, simple and secure ways must be created to relieve the workload of nursing staff and to increase the overall quality of care. The dexter project is meeting this challenge and developing a system that uses digital voice assistants, also known as smart speakers, to help people - even those without a basic understanding of digital technology - to contact caregivers in emergencies intuitively and without barriers by voice. The goal is to enable people in need of care to communicate their needs and problems to caregivers via the smart speaker, allowing them to prioritize and act accordingly. In addition, dexter also supports caregivers directly by enabling them to complete documentation tasks by voice.

In Germany alone, up to 18 million people have a need for psychological support. While for various reasons only about one fifth of these people seek professional help in therapy, the majority remain without psychological support. Especially for people who feel psychologically burdened but do not yet have an indication for therapy according to psychotherapeutic standards, it is important to take countermeasures in time to counteract a manifestation of symptoms. ACTitude therefore offers digital services for the prevention of mental illness. These include online courses (with audio, visual and text material) as well as a podcast ("The Upward Spiral"). The courses are based on acceptance and commitment therapy.

Coop4Health.NRW will establish a citizen cooperative as part of the LifeSciences.NRW lead market competition to help improve the health and well-being of the NRW population. It will achieve this by integrating personal (health-related) data and information from the ecosystem for data-driven healthcare in NRW. What is special about the innovative governance approach of this cooperative is that citizens themselves have full control over their data and can jointly decide on its use for the benefit of all citizens. This makes data and information potentially usable across different "data silos" for all stakeholders inside and outside the healthcare sector even across regional and national borders. This approach is fully compatible with the EU GDPR and in line with the recommendations of the European Union in its Digital Health Strategy or Digital Single Market (DSM) strategies. Moreover, it is already legally regulated and anchored in all EU member states.Participating citizens will be offered individualized prevention, health promotion and healthcare measures that are specifically tailored to their needs and desired by them. Utilizing the knowledge of the citizen cooperative will improve local and regional healthcare delivery and planning in NRW and open up new opportunities for the digital health economy.
