Research Areas

Digital culture, infrastructures of research, ethnography of the virtual, sociology of intelligence

Currently, I‘m interested in infrastructures of research and various modes of doing intelligence. I wrote my dissertation about being personal in private and on the internet – think about selfies and how they can facilitate personal accessibility. I started my academic biography reading a lot of post-structuralist theory. In the past decade I grew fond of doing qualitativ research especially ethnographies of socio-digital situations. I think I’m biased towards the positive effects of technology and I hope to do optimistic research.
