Digitalization: Work and Organization in (international) Comparison

The digitalization is one of the highly discussed topics concering the future of work. Keywords such as "Industry 4.0", "Work 4.0" and "Crowdwork" currently describe a wide range of changes and processes in work and organizations due to digital technologies. In a seminar under the direction of Paul-Fiete Kramer, various developments in this field of interest will be researched. The focus is on questions of changes brought by the digitilization. The main interests concern the organizational level and the organization of digital work, the structures and mechanisms of platform-based work as well as the challenges due to the digitalization trade unions resp. the system of employment regulation are confronted with. In the seminar student research projects will be developed and carried out. The aim is to make a contribution to the current discussion concerning questions of the digitalization of work and organizations and to improve knowledge about the dynamic developments.

Integration of Refugees in NRW

This project aims for research on the integration of refugees in Northrhine-Westphalia. In a seminar under the direction of Dr. Anna Mratschkowski, students will conduct narrative interviews with refugees and will present their findings at a public workshop. This project aims for contributing to the understanding of specific biographies, migration- and integration trajectories.

The Role of Civil Society Organizations in Refugee-related Work (ROZOF)

As part of a teaching/research project regarding the role of civil society organizations in the field of refuge, students carry out their own research supervised by Dr. Anna Mratschkowski. The results will be presented at July 11 at an workshop held at the RUB. The projects aims for understanding and improving the refugee-related work of NGOs and governmental organizations in Bochum.

Migrationsforschung und Transnationalisierung von Vergesellschaftungsprozessen

Ziel: Im Themenfeld "Migrationsforschung und Transnationalisierung von Vergesellschaftungsprozessen" werden kontinuierlich theoretisch konzeptionelle Arbeiten, sekundäranalytische Auswertungen vorhandener Studien und empirische Eigenerhebung in begrenztem Umfang aus Eigenmitteln durchgeführt. Ziel ist hierbei, zu einem besseren Verständnis gegenwärtiger gesellschaftlicher Internationalisierungsprozesse sowie der Inkorporationsdynamik unterschiedlicher sozialer Gruppen in vielfältige sozialräumliche Bezüge beizutragen. Als Teilbereiche werden schwerpunktmäßig die Themen Transnationalismus und transnationale Migrantenorganisationen, Staatsbürgerschaft und die Integration von Migranten in Deutschland, Erinnerung und Migration in Europa sowie europäische Arbeitsmigrationspolitik bearbeitet.
