Biography
Toshiko Himeoka is a professor at Ritsumeika University in Japan in the faculty of international relations. Previously, she studied chemistry at Nara Women’s University in Japan. Within her research work, Himeoka connects historical and sociological perspectives in the field of social history in Japan and Germany. She is also a member of the research association for women’s studies in Japan. Between 1990 and 1992 she advised the Japanese Ministry of Education and Arts on their design of projects in women’s studies. In addition, Himeoka is a co-publisher of the renowned Yearbook for Women’s Studies in Japan.
