Biography
Pilwha Chang has been a professor of sociology at the Graduate School of Ewha Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea since 1984. She received her doctorate from the University of Sussex, UK, and her dissertation focused on women in development. In 1995 she founded the Asian Centre for Women’s Studies (ACWS) at Ewha Women’s University. Her research in particular has influenced the development of women and gender studies in South Korea.
