Biography
Wang Zheng is an associate professor of history and women’s studies at the Institute for Research on Women and Gender at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, USA. She has an international and leading role in the research of gender and women in modern China. Wang Zheng graduated from the University of California in Davis, USA and received her master at Shanghai Normal University, China. Her research focuses on gender discourse and the women’s movement in China in relation to the socioeconomic, political and cultural transformations of the past century. Wang Zheng has received numerous research fellowships from the University of Michigan, USA, as well as from external foundations.
